Remembering Dad

Charles Ralph Hajek July 6, 1940 - February 4, 2013This post has been a long time coming. I started and wasn't quite ready to write it a few times in the past month, so its finally happening now.

Dad and Mom...ahhhhh

Whenever I think of dad, I think of mom. He loved and worshiped the ground she walked on. I love the above picture, it is a very sweet moment. Below, the picture is chaos, five little girls. Poor dad, he was a Navy man who was used to boys/men. He later told me that he had no idea what to do with six girls, so he treated us like he would have treated boys.

Mom, Dad, Dad's mom, "nana"

He made us laugh

Dad was a good sport about going with the flow. The pic above shows that. Allyson had used the above wig for a costume and brought it up to visit. Dad let us put it on him, and allowed us to laugh with him.

If you knew my dad, you knew that he LOVED sitting and laying on the ground.
After the funeral we Hajek ladies had a little fun.
Carrying the casket; Matt the Mortician, Brian, Bob in the front. Back, Ethan, Uncle Skip and Erich.
All of us family. Dad would have gotten a kick out of all of us showing up for him. He would have loved it. He was a simple man who was content with simple pleasures.
